A Message from Dr. Alexandra Nicholson, Superintendent
District 31 takes pride in its student success rates, strong parental support, highly qualified staff, focus on the whole child, multiple student support programs, open and thorough communication and continuous school improvement efforts.
Through this website, it is our goal to share information about the District to keep parents and the community updated on accomplishments and student activities and to seek parental input through surveys. We hope you will find this web site informative and valuable. If at any time, you would like additional information, please do not hesitate to call. We believe in an open door policy and welcome parents and other parties interested in the District to call and visit.
The 2009-2010 school year will be another year filled with wonderful opportunities for continued development. Major focus areas will include the following: 1) to fulfill the reading, math and behavioral goals and objectives established by the District Response to Intervention Team; 2) to complete a District-wide systems analysis and develop a three to five year improvement plan; 3) to enhance communication between the District and its stakeholders; 4) to adjust the teacher appraisal process to be more in line with the Danielson Framework for Teaching; and 5) to begin a two-year process of review and revision of the reading and spelling programs.
The faculty and I look forward to working with all of you during the 2009-2010 school year to continue to provide a World Class Education for the students of District 31.
