State Mandated Assessment for Remote Learners
All District 31 students participate in several standardized assessments during the course of the school year. These federally mandated assessments include the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) and the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA). The results of these assessments, along with district benchmarks and classroom based assessments, are carefully reviewed by your child’s teacher and are used to design instruction that meets each student’s needs. Results are also used to inform continuous improvements in our instructional programming.
At this time, the federal Department of Education is not offering a waiver for mandated assessments like the waiver that was offered in the spring of 2020. The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has communicated that IAR and ISA will not have a remote option. District 31 has begun the processes for planning to welcome remote students into the school buildings to participate in these mandated assessments. Click here for more details.
