Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! The administrative team, faculty, staff, and I are privileged to serve the communities of Northbrook and Glenview through educating the children of District 31. Throughout the year, our efforts will focus on fulfilling the District’s mission: “Inspiring Minds, Building Futures - Together”.
We hope you find our District 31 website easy to navigate and helpful. It provides a wide range of information for parents / guardians, students, and community members. Some highlights include our Strategic Plan, the Student / Parent Handbook, District calendar, school calendars, emergency closing information, Board of Education members’ biographies and meeting agendas / minutes, student services, the Education Foundation, the Parent Teacher Club, community partners, etc.
Each school year, key initiatives for continued improvement are identified that directly correspond to and support the District 31 Strategic Plan. Our 2015-2016 Through 2021-2022 Strategic Plan, all of its progress reports, and this year’s Action Plan can be found within this website. We encourage you to join us during our Strategic Plan progress reports given during Board of Education meetings to learn about our journey of continuous improvement. These reports are provided in the form of Scorecards for each of the five goals which are available for viewing on this District website.
Our Student / Parent Handbook is divided into three main sections: District, Winkelman School, and Field School. This Handbook provides parents / guardians and students with important information regarding District policies and school procedures. This Handbook should be reviewed by all parents who should then discuss the information provided with their children at their appropriate developmental levels.
District 31 is committed to providing a high quality educational program to ALL students. We take our role in preparing your children for being successful within an ever changing world very seriously. The staff and I look forward to working with all of you during the 2018-2019 school year, to continue to provide an excellent and well-rounded educational experience for your children.
The administrative team and I have an open door policy, and we encourage two-way communication between you and us. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us at any time. Our partnership is important to the success of your children.
