Mindful Moments: A Monthly Guide for Families
A Month of Self-Love and Appreciation
February is a great reminder that love doesn't just mean chocolates and roses it's also about how we treat ourselves and the people in our lives every day. Selflove isn't selfish; it's the foundation for healthy relationships. It's important to teach our kids how to practice self-love and to care for themselves.
Conversation Starters:
• What is something you love about yourself?
• How can you show kindness to a friend this week?
• What are some things that you've loved from this week?
• How do you show love to yourself/others?
Mirror of Positivity
Have your child write positive affirmations and messages on post-it notes. Stick them up around the mirror where they get ready in the morning. Teach them to read/think some of those post-its aloud when they get ready in the morning. This helps start of their day on a positive note!
Self-Portrait
Let your kid draw a portrait of themself, or make a collage of themself full of things that they love about themselves! Then have them write words around the edge of the portrait that describe what makes them special.

• Ask, "if someone I loved was in this situation, what would I say to them?"
• Now, let's say that to ourselves!
