Little Free Library
The Little Free Library, in front of Winkelman school, is a community initiative that fosters a love of reading and sharing through a "take a book, return a book" free exchange system. These miniature libraries are placed in public spaces and are filled with a collection of gently used books donated by community members. You are invited to stop by, grab a book, take it home to read, and return it once you have finished it for someone else to enjoy or replace it with another book you’d love to share. This ongoing cycle of giving and receiving keeps the library stocked and in turn, strengthens community bonds and promotes literacy by making books accessible to everyone.
At times, this Little Free Library overflows with contributions from the community, leaving no room for new books. For those who wish to donate but find the Little Free Library at capacity, we have a convenient solution. In the front entrance, a designated Little Free Library bin awaits your gently used books. This space ensures that your book donations are still accepted and appreciated even if the library is full.
