Northfield Township Food Pantry Reaches $1.5 Million Goal for Growing for Good Capital Campaign
Glenview, IL — [03/05/2025] — The Northfield Township Food Pantry is excited to announce the successful completion of its Growing for Good capital campaign, having met its $1.5 million fundraising goal. This achievement enables the much-needed build-out and expansion of the Food Pantry’s facilities, addressing longstanding issues with accessibility, storage, and capacity.
The Growing for Good campaign was launched to resolve critical challenges faced by the Food Pantry in its current 2,200 square-foot, below-ground space at 2550 Waukegan Road. The limitations included insufficient storage, narrow aisles and accessibility issues that made it difficult to assist shoppers efficiently and effectively.
Thanks to the incredible support of donors, civic organizations, local businesses, and community members the Food Pantry’s new and improved space will feature:
- Ground-level access with wider, more accessible aisles and restrooms
- A separate entrance and exit for improved shopping flow
- Increased storage capacity to accept and store larger donations
- A dedicated volunteer work area for sorting and packaging donations
- A walk-in freezer for expanded food variety
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible generosity of our supporters and commitment of our community to making a difference,” said Shiva Mohsenzadeh, Board President of the Northfield Township Food Pantry. “This expansion ensures that we can better serve families in need and creates a more accessible and welcoming environment for our shoppers and volunteers. We are also deeply grateful to our staff and dedicated team of over 200 volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the pantry running every day.” The completion of this campaign marks a historic milestone in the Pantry’s 50+ year history. As an essential resource for hundreds of local families, the Northfield Township Food Pantry continues to rely on the support of residents, businesses, and organizations to fight food
insecurity in the community.
