PTO March 2026 Newsletter

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

February may have started off quietly, but it certainly ended with a bang! Our amazing families kicked off the month by creating a whopping 140 Valentine’s Day cards for Children in Hospitals—what a wonderful way to spread kindness and brighten someone’s day.

Our restaurant fundraiser at Dengeo’s was another great success. A big thank you to everyone who came out to support, and a special shoutout to the teachers who joined in and grabbed lunch!

We were also happy to treat our teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Thank you to Viccino’s for providing a delicious spread of salad, pizza, and pasta to keep everyone fueled through a busy evening.

And of course, our annual Glow Party lit up the gym once again! It was a wonderfully chaotic and joyful night filled with neon lights, dancing, and glowing smiles. Students worked with art teacher Mrs. Fisher to showcase the theme “All the Places They’ll Glow!” and both students and parents had an unforgettable time.

March is shaping up to be just as exciting! Our now annual STEM Night on March 14th will have a special Pi Day theme. Think you know your Pi? Attendees will have the chance to compete and see who can recite the most digits!

On March 7th, the D31 Education Foundation will host their annual gala. For just $75, guests can enjoy delicious food from local restaurants, specialty cocktails, and the chance to bid on some fantastic prizes. Proceeds will be donated to the district to support Teachers, Students, and the Community.

Our next General Meeting will be on March 9th. We’ll be talking about the upcoming PTO Board elections, including which positions will be open and what each role involves. If you’ve ever been curious about getting involved, this is the perfect chance to come
learn more and ask questions!

It’s shaping up to be another fantastic spring at Winkelman—we can’t wait to see you at these upcoming events!
