A Race to the Finish!
The days are getting longer, and somehow the school year is flying by! As we head into the homestretch, we’re feeling both excited to celebrate all we’ve accomplished and a little sad knowing the year is coming to a close.
Our Around the World event last month was a wonderful success! With 15 country tables featuring delicious food, fun games, and engaging activities, it was a true celebration of our community. Our new Fashion Show was a highlight of the evening, with 25 families proudly sharing their cultural attire. And of course, Dr. Murphy brought everyone together in her unforgettable Statue of
Liberty costume!
Our Cabo Restaurant fundraiser was another fantastic event, with a great turnout from both families and staff. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the PTO! We’re looking forward to our final restaurant fundraiser at Popeye’s in Glenview, owned by a District 31 family. We hope to see you there!
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we have some fun surprises planned to celebrate our amazing staff. A big thank you to Betsy Berman for organizing these thoughtful treats! As we begin wrapping up this school year, we’re also looking ahead to next year and our upcoming Executive Board elections. We have several open positions, including Co-President, Secretary, VP of Events, VP of
Communications, and VP of Fundraising. Elections will take place at our May 11th General Meeting in the Winkelman Commons.
Our PTO thrives on the incredible teamwork among our board, committee chairs, and volunteers. Board members help guide and support all the wonderful events and initiatives that make our community so special. It’s also a great way to connect with other
families, teachers, and staff. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to jump in and have fun!
If you’re interested in running for a position, please email us at d31pto@gmail.com by May 9th. Candidates running unopposed will be confirmed by a majority vote at the May 11th meeting.
We’re also hosting two casual meet-and-greet sessions on May 4th for anyone interested in learning more about board roles. Stop by anytime, ask questions, and meet current members! Join us from 10 am–1 pm at Bean Bar or from 6 pm–9 pm at Next Door Lounge, and your first coffee or cocktail is on us!
We hope to see you there, and thank you for being such an important part of our PTO community!
Many Hands Make Light Work!
Warmly,
Sarah Goldman & the PTO Team

SPECIAL THANKS TO POPEYES
Around the World Fun with District 31!
Dear District 31 Families and Friends,
Thank you for joining us for Around the World Fun! It was such a joy to see our community come together to celebrate the many cultures and traditions that make our district so special.
With 16 incredible country tables and a vibrant Cultural Fashion Show featuring over 70 students in traditional attire, there was so much to explore and experience. It was especially meaningful to see multiple generations of families coming together— sharing stories, traditions, and pride in their heritage.
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who hosted tables, volunteered, and attended. Your time, creativity, and spirit are what make this event so memorable each year.
We are grateful to be part of such a vibrant and diverse community and we can’t wait to celebrate together again next year!
