Weekly Field Principal Message 2/6/26

Weekly Field Principal Message 2/6/26

February 6, 2026

Good afternoon Field Families!

This week was a busy and important one at Field Middle School. We appreciated the opportunity to connect with families during Parent-Teacher Conferences and strengthen our partnership in supporting student learning. In addition, we welcomed Victor Pancini, who spoke with students as part of Erin’s Law, providing age-appropriate, valuable information focused on personal safety and awareness.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our students grow, achieve, and thrive.  Stay warm, and have a great weekend!

Please read below for more news and information, including Field's Students of the Month and Panorama School Climate and Culture Survey.

Sincerely,

Nino Alvarez, Principal

Please see this link for more information on how this program will be presented.

  • D31 Climate and Culture Parent Survey. District 31 truly values the voices of our families. From February 12 through March 10, families are invited to complete a brief Panorama Survey to share their experiences with Winkelman Elementary School and Field Middle School.

This shorter survey replaces the traditional Illinois 5Essentials parent survey and focuses on key areas, including school climate, supportive learning environments, and school–family communication. To better reflect the diversity of our community, the survey includes expanded translation options, and all responses are confidential.

Families will receive a stand-alone email and text message with the survey link on February 12, along with reminder messages via email, text, and social media throughout the survey window.

Students in grades 4–8 will also complete a similar survey about their school experience, including whether they feel connected, included, supported, and appropriately challenged in their learning. Student responses are anonymous. If you prefer that your child not participate, please contact your building principal.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for your continued partnership with District 31.

Worth Repeating:

  • Attention Parents,
We cannot have parents picking up students outside of the designated car line areas. This creates a dangerous situation for our students. We have received concerns from the Sheriff’s Office as well as from motorists regarding unsafe pickup practices.
For the safety of all students, please adhere to our established car pickup lines
