Message from the Superintendent-September 20, 2019

Dear Parents,

Happy Friday!  I just wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some District news and information.

  • First Student will be reaching out in the next week to families of bus riders with a letter of apology about the bus service and information about signing up with First View.  First View will allow parents to monitor their child’s bus route and allow for more direct First Student communication. There is no cost to parents to utilize this app. They will also be offering parents a refund of the equivalent of one week of bus service.  We are working with First Student to determine the final amount for each family, the timeline for receiving that refund, and the method of the refund. Stay tuned for more information.
  • The Winkelman playground is making great progress.  The last report from the contractors is that students will hopefully be playing on it sometime in October, as long as we have good weather.
  • Have you signed up for Parent-Teacher conferences? This is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to partner in support of their children.  If you have any questions about conference sign-ups, please contact the Field and Winkelman offices.
  • The Education Foundation and Parent Teacher Organization are co-sponsoring a “Parents Night Out” at North Branch on Saturday, September 28.  The event starts at 7pm and parents are invited to drop in any time. In addition, if you eat at North Branch (or order take-out) and mention this event, a portion of your bill will be donated to our wonderful parent organizations.  We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to connect with friends, both old and new.
  • Next Wednesday, September 25, the District Office will be having some work done to the space in order to finish the project begun this summer.  Thus, the District office phones will experience intermittent service and access to the office will be limited throughout the day. However, both the Field and Winkelman offices will be open and functioning as normal.

Have a great weekend.
