Happy Friday!  Just a few notes as we move into the weekend.


  • Our next regular meeting of the Board of Education is Thursday, October 24 at 7pm in the Field Learning Center. We welcome parents and community members to attend.  Agenda items for this month include a presentation on student outcomes on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness and NWEA Map and a report on the new science curriculum, as well as other discussion topics.  Agendas for the Board meeting can be found here or on our websiteIf anyone would like to make a comment you can either contact me or participate in the “Comments from Audience” portion of the meeting.
  • The Education Foundation is excited to remind everyone about District 31's next big event at Winkelman - the Fun Run sponsored by APEX Leadership Co!  On Friday, October 25, Winkelman will be participating in its big fundraising event of the year. The goal of the fun run is to raise funds to cover the costs of Winkelman's new improved playground and Field's new and improved outdoor play space and equipment.  Click here for all the details!  Pledge at 
  • Multilingual Services Evaluation Postponed: Due to an unforeseen medical situation, the IRC specialists conducting our Multilingual Services evaluation cancelled our October 16th and 24th dates. We will communicate our new evaluation dates once it’s rescheduled.
