Food Drive to Benefit the Northfield Township Food Pantry

As our nation faces unprecedented challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, some members of our own community are struggling to make ends meet. In an attempt to assist our neighbors in need, we will be conducting a food drive to benefit the Northfield Township Food Pantry and would like to invite you to get involved.

On Wednesday, April 29 th between the hours of 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, we will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items to be delivered to the pantry. A truck will be parked outside of Field School in the student drop-off lane on Landwehr Road. Donations can be dropped off by simply pulling in and placing items in the truck or someone will be available to unload them from your vehicle if you prefer. The Food Pantry contacted the District 31 administration and identified the following items as most needed:
 Cereal
 Canned corn
 Canned mixed vegetables
 Beef stew
 Soups (other than chicken noodle)
 Oatmeal

You can find other ways to assist the pantry on their website https://twp.northfield.il.us/pantry/#. If you have any questions or comments regarding this effort, please email Marty Frega at mfrega@district31.net.
