Restore Illinois Phase 4 Information/ Fall Planning

June 23, 2020

Dear District 31 Community,

Today ISBE released  ISBE Phase 4 Guidance for Schools. This document will guide us as we prepare for the fall.

Phase 4 allows for  in-person learning with safety precautions, which will allow students to return to school. If Illinois returns to Phase 3 or lower, the District will revert to E-learning.

Today, Tuesday, June 23, we shared draft fall plans with two advisory groups of staff and parents (before the guidance was released). Our conversations focussed extensively on what it would look like to return to in-person learning. The ISBE guidance we have received further supports the District's draft plans.

The administrative team will now carefully review the guidance and adjust plans as needed based on both the issued guidance and feedback from parents and staff. We look forward to providing an update at the June 25 Board of Education Meeting this week (Thursday at 7 p.m.--Click here for more information).

We also look forward to more collaboration with our teams, as well as some July Town Hall Meetings for staff and parents. Dates and times for these virtual Town Hall meetings will be announced shortly.

I appreciate all of your support and guidance so we can provide a safe and effective learning environment for staff and students!

Sincerely,
Dr. Erin K. Murphy
Superintendent
