Free COVID-19 Testing Event, 5Essentials Survey, Field Food Drive, Summer Programs, Registration, and Upcoming Events

April 1, 2021

Dear District 31 Community,

Happy April!  The changing of the calendar, the flowers pushing up through the ground and the warmer temperatures with sunshine mean that spring is here...and with spring, the final homestretch of this unusual year.

I am excited to announce a FREE COVID-19 testing event for all on Tuesday, April 6 from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. in the Winkelman School parking lot (1919 Landwehr Road). The voluntary event is the result of a community partnership.

Participants will receive the COVID-19 PCR test, which uses a self-collection throat swab to detect the presence of the virus that causes COVID-19. Services will be provided on-site. Results are provided confidentially directly to the email address used to register. The District will NOT receive copies of test results.  There is no requirement to participate but we are happy to support opportunities to keep our community safe.

Learn more about the event and pre-register here.

5Essentials Survey -LAST DAY!
Last chance to share your thoughts on the important elements of our school effectiveness. Please complete the survey at https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ by tomorrow, April 2, 2021.

Take a screenshot or photo of your completed survey and send it to tnielsen@district31.net for a chance to win a gift card from a local restaurant. A final grand prize $100 gift card winner will be announced April 5.  Right now our response rate for Field is 29% and 33% for Winkelman---we appreciate you taking the time and we hope to get the input of even more of our families. Thank you for helping us exceed the minimum amount of responses needed to to get the results. Last week’s drawing winner is Aasma Aziz. Congratulations!
