Thanksgiving Break, STEAM Opportunity, High School Transition, and Important Dates
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In this season of thanks, we want to share how thankful we are for our Field Tigers, their families, and our outstanding staff. With everyone’s dedication to doing what is best for our students, we have maintained a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all of our students during the pandemic. Thank you for your partnership and continued support!
Just a few notes this week-
We will NOT have any after school activities on Tuesday, November 23, and school is closed on November 24, 25, or 26.
Mr. Mike Sinde, the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering teacher at Glenbrook South High School has shared the following opportunity for our students!
As part of our continued outreach efforts, we host a series of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) related workshops in conjunction with the Glenview Public Library. These workshops are open to students in grades 5th - 8th, are completely free, alternate between Glenbrook South High School and the Glenview Public Library, and are run by members of Glenview's Got STEAM.
Our next workshop will be the "Hour of Code" at Glenbrook South High School on Thursday, December 2nd from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.. Because of the popularity of these events, we are opening this special event to 40 students (as opposed to the normal 20) and our engineering club will be providing snacks for participants. We are almost full and would like to invite your students to participate. More information including the application for this session can be found here. Questions about Glenview's Got STEAM can be directed to GlenviewsGotSTEAM@gmail.com
