January 7, 2022
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope our Field families were able to enjoy the holiday season and winter break!
As we continue to face the challenges of the pandemic, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support, patience, and flexibility. The Field community will remain diligent in our efforts to provide a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment for our Tigers!
A few notes for this week-
Erin’s Law is a state law requiring that all public schools implement a sexual abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades K-12. In response to Erin’s Law, Field students will be presented a virtual program, scheduled on Monday, January 10, with Mr. Victor Pacini entitled, “Empowering Children to Be Seen and Heard.” His website, www.victorpacini.com/ states that the overall goal of this Erin’s Law Program for Schools is to “create a safe and engaging environment where children will learn about the dangers of abuse and the difference between safe and unsafe touching.” These presentations are designed to empower and educate children in a developmentally and appropriate child-friendly manor. For additional information about Erin’s Law, please visit www.erinslaw.org. If you have any questions and/or do NOT want your child to participate in this program, please contact, Dr. April Miller, Principal, Field Middle School (firstname.lastname@example.org / 847-313-4451) or Justin Cooper, Assistant Principal, Field Middle School (email@example.com/847-313-4448) prior to the program date. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate in this program.
District 31 participates in a comprehensive, local benchmark assessment program that measures student achievement and growth, as well as providing needed information for instruction and curricular efficacy. District 31 students will participate in NWEA MAP and aimswebPlus this fall. Field will administer MAP tests on January 11 and 12. Testing will be done the first thing each morning; students will report directly to their Advisory instead of their first period. Please click here to see the district assessment plan and schedule.
Physical and Health Education
Every year students in grades 6th-8th receive health education through physical education classes. The program stresses the importance of responsible, personal decision making and selecting a healthy lifestyle. This year we are working with health educators from Candor Health to provide the sex education component of the health curriculum to all grades. Please click this link for more information on the upcoming lessons on January 13 and 14.
