IAR Testing, Career Day, Tiger Athletics, 8th Grade Graduation, 8th Grade High School Opportunities, PTO, Registration, Summer Program, and Important Dates
Thursday, April 14,
Dear Parents and guardians,
A few notes this week….
Reminder-school is not in session on Friday, April 15 or Friday, April 22.
Thanks to everyone who made our production of Frozen Jr. a great success. Our Tigers gave incredibly entertaining performances! The house was packed for both nights!
IAR (The Illinois Assessment of Readiness) testing is off to a great start. We completed the first two units of testing: one for English Language Arts and one for Math. Testing will resume on Tuesday, April 19 and will conclude on Wednesday, April 20. Please remind your Tiger to charge their chromebook and make sure to bring corded headphones for testing days. Our students take these federally required assessments every spring. The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) helps us understand how our students are growing academically, compared to their peers across the state. The state uses this information to provide more support and resources to the schools in the greatest need. Assessment results are sent home in the fall.
On Monday, April 18th, Field will hold an inaugural Career Day. Students will go through an abbreviated schedule to learn about careers related to each of their classes. After lunch, our Tigers will complete an interest survey to identify possible careers of interest. Finally, each grade level will view presentations of four different professions where speakers will discuss their work and how school has impacted their lives. We are grateful for the 17 community members who are volunteering their time to speak to and inspire our Field Tigers!
Please join us in cheering on our Tigers!
