Winter Weather Reminders/ Review of Emergency Closing Information
Review of Emergency Closing Information
The Northfield Township Superintendents work collaboratively with each other, the villages of Glenview and Northbrook, and our bus company to determine if it is safe for schools to open. Decisions are made before 6 a.m., although, if possible, the decision will be communicated the night before.
As with so many things in the last year, our options for emergency days have also changed. Given our ability to deliver remote instruction, if it is deemed not safe to be on site in the school buildings due to extreme weather or cold, all District 31 students will participate in remote instruction. This will mean that we do NOT need to make up a day at the end of the school year.
Field students will follow their traditional schedule, just as they did during the adaptive pause.
The schedule for Winkelman remote students will remain unchanged. They will have a normal day.
The schedule for Winkelman in-person students will follow the remote schedule utilized during the adaptive pause. Teachers will email you information as needed.
If it is determined that the weather makes it unsafe to have in person instruction, you will receive notification via email, text, and phone.
