Back to School Information, Calendar of Events, SHIELD Testing, and PTO Events
Dear Winkelman Families,,
Welcome Back and Happy New Year! We hope that you had a wonderful winter break and you were able to spend time with your family.
With the rise in COVID 19 cases, we want to assure you that we will continue to diligently work to maintain each of our mitigation strategies while students are at school. Please take time to remind students how important it is to wear their mask properly and wash their hands as often as possible. Our staff will continue to work closely with students to maintain social distancing, hand washing and the appropriate way to wear their mask.
If your child exhibits any COVID 19 symptoms, please keep them at home. If you have any questions about our school quarantine protocol, please do not hesitate to reach out to either our a school nurses at:
Please be sure that your child dresses for the weather as they will go outside for recess so long as it is above 15 degrees (which includes the windchill). They should have hats, gloves, scarves, boots and a winter coat. If you are in need of winter gear, please let our social workers know. We are happy to support your children if this is a need.
We look forward to an amazing week this week and look forward to welcoming our students back to school.

SHIELD ILLINOIS TESTING
Our Shield Illinois testing resumes on Wednesday. As a response to the increasing rates, we will be testing ALL students -- vaccinated or unvaccinated. This is a change from the information shared before break. If you would like to opt your student out, please let our school nurse know at firstname.lastname@example.org. If a student was previously opted out they will remain on the opt out list unless we are informed that you would like them to test. If your child had Covid over break, please make sure that you let our nurses know so we can update our records and ensure that they are not being tested.
Please support our PTO and mark your calendars with our next PTO restaurant fundraisers.
